Raakin Iqbal

Co-Founder and CEO, Nucleus AI

Raakin Iqbal is pioneering the next frontier of artificial intelligence as co-founder and CEO of Nucleus AI. While most companies focus on current generative AI, Raakin’s team is pushing the boundaries towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and laying early foundations for Superintelligent AI (SSI) through groundbreaking advances in memory management, contextual understanding, and reasoning capabilities.

Presently various parts of their “AI Brain” technology are currently being tested by multiple Dubai government ministries. The system has achieved unprecedented breakthroughs in memory retention and true contextual understanding—two fundamental challenges blocking the path to AGI. It demonstrates remarkable capabilities in maintaining coherent context across millions of tokens while exhibiting human-like reasoning, setting new standards in the journey toward superintelligent systems.

Working alongside Dr. Marwan, CEO of Dubai Blockchain Center, Nucleus AI’s system has showcased exceptional abilities in not just understanding complex regulations for virtual currencies and blockchain exchanges, but reasoning through overlapping rules and grey areas –
effectively reducing bureaucracy while ensuring compliance. This practical application of advanced AI transforms how governments approach regulatory frameworks and decision-making processes.

The system’s early signs of general intelligence were first demonstrated in its pilot with Dubai Airport. The AI showed remarkable social and emotional intelligence by contextualizing responses based on real physical locations and practical limitations, such as considering
mobility constraints when making recommendations. This is a clear demonstration of AI moving beyond simple processing toward human-like understanding and reasoning.

A visionary entrepreneur with a track record of transformative innovation, Raakin previously co-founded the first U.S. COVID testing tool in April 2020, later sponsored by Google and featured in The New York Post, Business Insider, and The Hill. His ventures have served clients from ESPN to the White House, earning him recognition as the “South Asian Music Mogul” by The Washington Post.

Today, Raakin and his team are actively shaping the future of AI governance, consulting with government leaders across the MENASA region as they prepare for the next evolution of artificial intelligence. Their work extends beyond current AI capabilities, focusing on building the
foundational systems that will enable the transition from AGI to superintelligent systems, positioning the MENASA region at the forefront of this technological revolution.
